| Classic Feature #2 - January 2003 |
| K-Haven's "Feature of the Month" has now been renamed and shall be
known forevermore as "K-Haven Feature"
As I was updating "K-Haven" this year during my christmas break and put my annual "Happy New Year!" message, I felt that another feature was in order. Once again, as I have done in the past, I have ressurected an old "K-Haven". This Month's feature will take a look at the best of the old "K-Haven" as seen on the week of January 1st, 2001. Also this month, A look at all the site title graphics (ya know, the one's that say "K-Haven" at the top of the homepage) in the order in which they appeared and even some rejected ones, as well as the usual assortment of useless facts that has been a tradition on "K-Haven Feature". |
It seemed to me, that since it is the week of January 1st, 2003, that a glimpse of "K-Haven" exactly two full years ago on the week of January 1st, 2001 was a good idea. If you think about it, two years is a significant chunk of internet history. In fact, this January 1st in 2003 marks exactly 20 years since the internet graced this earth with its life-altering presence. So let us go back 2 years ago (or like a century in internet time) to see "K-Haven" as it appeared in 2001.
The Title Graphics
When this site first came up in March of 1997, it was originally going to be called "Matt's Website", as this was the most creative name I had been able to come up with at the time. But before the site was actually put up, it was renamed, "Kloraff's Ultimate Stuff Site" which had been created with a trial version of "Microsoft Publisher 97". Of all the titles this site had ever used, the first was unsurprisingly the most boring one.
"Kloraff's Ultimate Stuff Site" then used two other titles...
...before it relaunched as "K-Haven" in 1999. The first look, featuring a purple color scheme, saw 4 different titles.

During mid-2001, "K-Haven" switched to the format you see now, with the blue color scheme. The site was originally going to relaunch in green instead of blue but the green graphics got scrapped because the buttons in the frame to the left didn't look right. Here are the last 2 titles including the green one you never saw.
